We are a family ranch in search of a part time caretaker,4 days a week. The ideal person would have the ability to do basic fencing (wood as well as wire), be able to occasionally lift up to 70-80 pound (hay bales), or to move feed sacks (50 lbs.). You would need to mow and weed-wack, occasionally use a chainsaw, and have the desire to keep things neat and clean. Having a basic understanding of wells, plumbing, or electric is always helpful but not required. You should have the willingness to learn how to do basic care of horses to include cleaning stalls, feeding, catching or holding horses for the vet or farrier. There is such a long list of things it could be but this should give you a bit of an idea to help you figure out if you are the perfect fit. It is important to us that you are a very good communicator as well as reliable and responsible. There are two other families at the ranch so it is very important that you would be cooperative and friendly with the other households.
We are about 15-20 minutes south of Colorado Springs so you would need to have reliable transportation. Because this is not a full time position you would need to have an outside source of income. We have two different types of housing so which house will be dependent on the candidate. One of the houses is a two bedroom one bath and the other is a basic studio. Both have AC, off street parking, new windows, and updates like new appliances and remodeled bathrooms.
