Click here for information on Aerospace's COVID-19 directives and safety procedures implemented to keep our workplace safe.Job SummaryThe Systems Performance, Estimation, and Algorithms Department (SPEAD) performs concept development, systems engineering, architecture analysis, algorithm development and evaluation support for national security space customers emphasizing Radar, Electro-Optical (EO) and Infrared (IR) sensors, missile warning/missile tracking (MW/MT) missions, Electronic Warfare (EW), space domain awareness (SDA), and space protection and security . The selected candidate will provide analytical support, algorithm development, systems engineering and architecting, and modeling and simulation analysis for space surveillance systems, space protection and space threat susceptibility, vulnerability analysis and resiliency assessment. Candidate will interact directly with government customers as well as Aerospace program office personnel in the Colorado Springs area and collaborate closely with Engineering and Technology Group (ETG) and program office personnel in El Segundo, CA, Chantilly, VA, and other locations. What you need to be successful Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or another related technical discipline
- Four (4) years of applicable aerospace engineering, physics, or mathematics experience
- Familiarity and analytical experience with directed energy threat mitigation concepts for electro-optical (EO), and Infrared (IR) sensor and sensor concepts
- Experience in modeling, simulation, and analysis and/or algorithm development for directed energy phenomena
- Experience in modern data analysis techniques for algorithm design and evaluation
- Technical expertise in directed energy threat susceptibility and vulnerability analysis and modeling of space based EO and IR sensor systems and their broader system-of-systems architectures
- Demonstrated technical leadership in space threat vulnerability and resiliency analysis
- Good interpersonal communication and briefing skills along with the ability to work independently and interact effectively with high-level government, Aerospace, and contractor personnel
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
- Advanced technical degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or another related technical discipline
- Background in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence applied to space systems data problems
- Experience in researching, developing and applying advanced and innovative techniques for algorithm development for directed energy threat detection and reporting
- Experience with tools to test and analyze the physical effects of directed energy on EO and IR materials
- Project leadership/management of directed energy threat susceptibility, vulnerability analysis, and modeling of space based EO/IR sensor systems and their broader system-of-systems architectures
- Current TS/SCI clearance
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or another related technical discipline
- Eight (8) years of applicable aerospace engineering, physics and/or mathematics experience
- Develop and analyze directed energy threat mitigation concepts for electro-optical (EO), and Infrared (IR) sensor and sensor concepts
- Experience in modeling, simulation, and analysis and/or algorithm development for directed energy phenomena using in-house, custom and commercially available/government provided modeling tools
- Experience in modern data analysis techniques , using innovative and unconventional methods for algorithm development used for government evaluation
- Provide technical expertise and project leadership in directed energy threat susceptibility and vulnerability analysis and modeling of space based electro-optical (EO), and Infrared (IR) sensor systems and their broader system-of-systems architectures
- Demonstrated technical leadership in space threat vulnerability and resiliency analysis
