ASRC Federal Agile Decision Sciences is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems.We are seeking highly motivated Software Engineers to support the development and sustainment of the U.S. Missile Defense Agency Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) anti-ballistic missile system project in Colorado Springs, CO.This position requires on-site work to be performed in Colorado Springs, CO. There are no remote work options.The selected Software Engineer will be responsible for software development and support of the GMD Fire Control (GFC) suite of products within the Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA) Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS) program in Colorado Springs, CO.The Software Engineer:

Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.

Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design and development of product software.

Ensures software standards are met.

Essential Functions:

Support advanced portions of the lifecycle of software development to include requirements definition, integration, and deployment.

Prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish project results with minimal oversight and direction.

Apply a holistic systems approach to ensure developed products are scalable, maintainable, and meet end-user needs.

Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.

Communicate openly and effectively with teammates and customer representatives.

Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree and 3 years of related experience

US Citizen with Active US Government DoD Secret Security Clearance

Experience developing software in object-oriented programming languages such as Ada, C, C, or Java

Strong Math background, specifically linear algebra, probability, and numerical methods

Strong Physics background, specifically Orbital mechanics, gravity and earth modelling

Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in software engineering

Experience with Missile Defense Agency systems

Understanding of continuous integration/delivery

Algorithm/SW optimization and debugging skills

Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems

Familiarity with Agile software development practices and DevSecOps

Familiarity with version control software and tools such as Git, Gitlab, Nexus Repository, Artifactory, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, etc.

Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with technical teams and government customer personnel
