Manager/Director Business Development Job ID #: 28315 Location: CO-COLORADO SPRINGS Functional Area: Commercial Position Type: Full Time Experience Required: More than 10 years Relocation Provided: May be Considered Education Required: Bachelors Degree RC/Department: 5076 -WEST REGION GAS PIPELINES :KMPL Position Description The Account Director of Business Development position is responsible for the development and execution of pipeline and gas storage capital projects in the KM West Region Gas Pipelines group. The KM West Region Gas Pipelines group (based in Colorado Springs) operates 8 separate FERC-regulated interstate pipeline and storage companies with approximately 17,000 miles pipe and 100 Bcf of gas storage capacity in aggregate; Cheyenne Plains Gas Pipeline, Colorado Interstate Gas Pipeline, El Paso Natural Gas, Mojave Pipeline, Sierrita Gas Pipeline, TransColorado Gas Transmission, Wyoming Interstate Pipeline, and Young Gas Storage.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for origination of new business opportunities and negotiation of commercial transactions, including the development of the capital expansion projects and asset acquisitions
Provide extensive market analysis to identify new opportunities, competitive threats, and to directly promote opportunities with customers and agencies
Serve as lead project sponsor responsible for coordinating work activities between the various KM stakeholder groups and departments that support the business development function, including the development of conceptual facility designs, construction capital and O&M cost estimates, project economics, budgets, and long range financial projections
Provide guidance and oversight to the broader KM team related to regulatory, permitting, rights-of-way acquisition, public outreach and construction activities to ensure overall commercial objectives are achieved for sponsored projects
Identify and develop new joint venture opportunities; negotiate joint development, LCC and operating agreements
Maintain awareness of internal KM policies and broad external regulatory requirements with respect to the development and execution of interstate expansion projects
Coordinate strategies with other KM commercial functional groups (Marketing and Asset Optimization) related to sale of transportation and storage capacity to ensure overall business objectives are met
Position Requirements
Education, Work Experience and Skill Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering or related field of study
Candidate should have at least 10 years of natural gas industry experience, preferably in interstate pipeline business development or marketing; however, candidates with a strong work experience in facility planning, project management, regulatory, or similar role in the natural gas industry will be considered
Experience negotiating and drafting commercial agreements with customers
Experience in the development and review of financial models and capital cost estimates
Ideal candidate will have existing relationships with customers conducting business on the assets operated by the KM West Region Gas Pipelines group
Demonstrate superior PC skills with extensive experience using Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and experience with GIS mapping software
Willingness and ability to promote open and continuous communication between customers, departments, and personnel
Must be articulate, work well under pressure, consistently able to meet deadlines and have excellent verbal and communication skills
Maintains a high regard for the safety of company assets, employees, and the general public
Working conditions:
KM West Region Gas Pipelines headquarter office located in Colorado Springs, CO
Overnight travel required, as well as periodic on-call availability on weekends and after standard business hours to address project and customer needs
Interactions with all levels inside the Company, and with external customers and agencies

Pay range: $129,000-$274,000. This position includes a discretionary annual incentive plan.
