Spruce Confections is a growing local bakery and café that has been rooted in the Boulder community for over 25 years. We proudly hand make all of our products from scratch in our Boulder bakeries. We currently have multiple retail locations in Boulder, along with numerous wholesale customers across the Front Range and are seeking an HR professional to join and grow with our team.

Under general direction of the owner, this position serves as the primary Human Resources professional for Spruce Confections. This position is responsible for performing and overseeing all functional activities within the scope of Human Resources. The ideal candidate must be able to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times and is able to work effectively under pressure.

This position is currently operating 32 hours per week and is on call to deal with immediate issues that arise outside of physical working hours. This is not a remote position.

Duties:

-Work with management to create systems to motivate employees

-Participate in planning and development of the business and implement business changes

-Maintain employee policies

-Recruitment and hiring employees that advance company objectives

-Employee onboarding and new hire orientation

-Address employee questions and concerns

-Act as advocate for employees

-Handle disciplinary actions, as well as coach and counsel employees to develop better skills

-Maintain company culture that promotes a safe, positive work environment

-Payroll processing and labor analysis

-Manage employee benefits

-Manage workers compensation claims and benefits

-Legal compliance with labor laws and documentation organization and management

-Conducts exit interviews and gathers feedback regularly from employees
