This role is responsible for Infrastructure and Resilience (I&R) IT project management and related functions to ensure that projects are completed on time, with the desired outcomes, within project constraints, and that IT services meet quality standards. This position also manages change enablement and proactive service review. Additionally, this position works with I&R IT leadership to coordinate procurement, support contract, and maintenance agreements.I&R IT provides a broad range of services in support of department programs and campus facilities. Areas of responsibility include long-range capital planning, architecture, design and construction, the operation and maintenance of all campus facilities and utilities, transportation services, workplace accident prevention and the creation of a safe working environment for campus employees, environmental health and safety, campus logistics, and efforts around sustainability and resiliency.Beyond creating a safe and secure environment at CU Boulder, the department is embarking on several projects that are key to the strategic vision of the campus including: crafting a clear and comprehensive framework and methodology for campus master planning, developing strategies and tactics to improve campus sustainability and resiliency, and dynamically working within the campus and with our community partners to positively impact humanity.What Your Key Responsibilities Will BeProject Management: Perform overall management of projects, often several concurrently that are critical to I&R IT's operations and overall mission.Project Delivery:

Conduct project sponsor and key partner interviews to develop project scope, desired outcomes, constraints, and exclusions. Ensure changes to scope are documented and agreed upon by key collaborators.

Set or revise initial project schedules based on the best information currently available and effectively manage the schedules through the length of the project.

Coordinate efforts of project members to stay on schedule and accomplish defined objectives. Communicate and coordinates changes to schedule and objectives.

Involve the service, support, and operations teams in projects as soon as possible to help ensure that project transitions are as smooth as possible.

Anticipate issues and proactively develop contingency plans.

Project Lifecycle:

Deliver timely and accurate project status to I&R IT and project team members.

Update project status weekly, including project health status (green, yellow, red).

Facilitate communication with project sponsors, partners, team members, constituents, service and support personnel, and management by creating and implementing a communication plan in coordination with I&R IT Communications.

Issue and Risk Management:

Actively identify, track, and manage project risks.

Ensure that project issues and roadblocks are clearly identified, managed, and promptly raised to I&R Management.

Continuous Improvement:

Assist with department efforts to drive PM process improvement, with primary emphasis on project management.

Change Enablement Management:

Follow ITIL change enablement processes. Within the direction of I&R IT leadership, standardize processes to ensure consistency and reliability across I&R IT. Ensure all changes are managed according to ITIL standards, including risk assessment, impact analysis, and documentation.

Conduct risk assessments: Evaluate potential risks associated with changes and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.

Manage changes board for I&R IT and facilitates weekly change reviews. Facilitate weekly change reviews, ensuring all proposed changes are thoroughly discussed, evaluated, and approved by the change board.

Coordinate, schedule, and communicate changes with collaborators. Work closely with partners to plan and communicate changes, ensuring minimal disruption to services and operations.

Monitor and report on change effectiveness: Track the success of implemented changes and continuously improve processes based on feedback and performance metrics.

IT Project Procurement Coordination:

Work directly with the I&R procurement officer, PSC, and vendors for the procurement of hardware, software, support and maintenance contract services.

Work through the ICT review process for new applications for security and accessibility compliance.

Collaborate with team leaders on project budgets.

Service Delivery Quality and Security Review:

Meet with I&R IT service managers regularly to review and assess services against I&R IT service standards. Identify deficiencies, plan and implement improvements based on assessment results.

Review and track support, and maintenance agreements; and software licenses to ensure license compliance and maintenance agreements align with I&R IT service standards for quality of service, response times, and recovery time objectives.

Other Responsibilities:

Assist with hands-on work on projects (responsible party) as needed.

Provide additional support for the SysAdmin, Customer Representative, and Information Systems groups as needed.

What You Should Know

Most work is performed during regular University business hours. Some work outside of normal business hours is required in support of projects such as after-hours system downtime for upgrades.

This position is assigned a hybrid work modality. The majority of work can be done remotely, but on campus work will be necessary based on departmental and project needs.

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Information Technology (IT), project management, organizational change, or communications.

One year of relevant professional experience. A combination of education and relevant experience as described below may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
