Location: Aurora, CO Description: Our client is currently seeking a Cable Technician Senior (Secret) Security Clearance Required: SecretData Center Build, Assembly, and cabling team Senior Technician.As a team Senior Technician of the GPS hardware team: candidate will be responsible for planning work of themselves and other technicians. Those technicians will assemble components into racks, connect components using various types of cables, both from prepared engineering drawings and instructions. This is a working lead position, meaning this candidate will regularly perform technical work.The ideal applicant will perform a wide variety of tasks related to data center installation, configuration, and maintenance. These tasks may include but are not limited to: Installing Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) Components into unit and rack assemblies, assembling and installing various types interconnection cabling including but not limited to Cat-5/6, Fiber Optic, Coaxial or Multi-conductor such as RS-232, or Twisted Shielded Pair (TSP) type cable assemblies. Modifications of physical configurations of compute, network, and storage components, including adding and removing expansion cards, memory and other parts Cable routing and dressing to specific program specification. Basic troubleshooting of hardware and power components Have the ability to communicate hardware design concepts with technical members of staff and interpret engineering drawings in the form of Creo, AutoCAD, Visio or similar products. Planning these elements of work for themselves and others.Required Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated knowledge of basic hand tools and test equipment. Ability to build Cat5/6 cable with RJ-45 connectors Understanding of industry standard data center connectivity, including knowing internet from fiber channel, and basic functionality of compute servers, network equipment and storage equipment Basic understanding of AC/DC Power/Grounding Principles Experience in computer and network hardware systems and ability to make basic repairs (swapping parts) following ESD standards General knowledge of common information system (computer and network) hardware interfaces Planning, reporting, and communication skills, including ensuring program and company policies (regarding physical work and documentation) are followed Proficiencies with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Power Point.Desired Skills: Familiarity with Industry Standards (AS-9100, ISO-9001, IPC-WHMA-A-620) Experience in Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support Experience in facility infrastructure (HVAC, power, grounding, fire suppression, etc) implementation and maintenance Experience in Radio Frequency (RF) subsystemsContact: This job and many more are available through The Judge Group.
