different.Job OverviewThe Clinical Pharmacist Specialist ensures safe, appropriate, and

economical use of drugs through the application of specialized skills and

knowledge in pediatric patient care. This position will be supporting

anticoagulation coverage and transitions-in-care for the Heart Institute and

Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center.

The Department of Pharmacy provides comprehensive clinical services to

patients at Children's Hospital Colorado. We have organized clinical

pharmacy services that complement the team approach to providing care. Our

clinical pediatric pharmacists are available 24 hours a day and help ensure

the safe and effective use of medication in children - as well as promote

health, wellness and disease prevention. Our specially-trained pharmacists

work with physicians and other healthcare professionals to determine the best

medication regimen and monitoring plan for the pediatric patient. Clinical

pharmacy services are integrated into virtually all inpatient care units as

designated pharmacists round with the medical teams. Through this direct

involvement, pharmacists are empowered to assist in a great deal of

therapeutic decision making and therapeutic drug monitoring activities.Additional InformationDepartment: Pharmacy

Hours per week:40, eligible for benefits

Shift: Monday - Friday, 0700-1530. Every 3rd weekend rotating and selected

holidays.QualificationsEducation: Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree.

Experience: Two (2) years of residency experience or one (1) year

of residency plus three (3) years of work experience.

Equivalency: Three (3) years of pharmacy work experience in area of

specialty accepted in lieu of 2nd year of residency.

Certifications: Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) Certification

required within 3 years of start date in position.

Licensure: State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA)
