Medical Coder/Billers/Reimbursement Specialist Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and submit clean claims to various insurance companies either electronically or by paper
Identify and resolve patient billing complaints
Follow up on unpaid insurance claims
Submits corrected claims and medical appeals for nonpayment or underpayment
Verify patient's eligibility and benefits
Performs other tasks as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications:
Certified Coder (preferably from the AAPC)
Candidate must have a minimum of 1 year of experience coding and charge entry
At least one year of Medical Billing/Reimbursement experience
Knowledge of commercial and government insurance billing guidelines
High School diploma or equivalent
EMR/EHR experience. eClinical Works and Cerner a plus!
Charge Capture Specialist Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs timely review of assigned patient encounters
Code and review charges by site and date of service
Preview charges for billing errors and applies appropriate use of coding to ensure clean claim submission
