An expert in creating world-class experiences for our guests, she brings over 15 years of experience at some of the most luxurious properties in the world. You will be joining a team of 17 responsible for facilitating the most splendid experiences for our guests. A four-year labor of love, our newly remodeled Chandon Home building is a modern and sophisticated site which will facilitate your artistry and expertise. You will be the face of our culinary experience for guests and media alike. You are a champion of the farm-to-table approach, exemplifying our mission of using our lands to create exceptional sparkling wines and experiences. You will develop a strong network of suppliers to acquire the freshest ingredients. You are an expert in creating delectable food and sparkling wine pairings with our winemaking team. You will work in concert with our winemaker to develop a symphony of taste for our guests. You will elevate the sparkling wine offerings by providing the best food complements. You’ll love working out of our newly remodeled Yountville, CA location. Situated in the beautiful natural landscape of the Napa Valley, it will make coming to work a treat. College Education in related field, Culinary degree preferred

Languages

Fluent in English language, second language helpful in communication with culinary staff

Specific Job Knowledge, Skill & Ability

Considerable knowledge of mathematics to create and interpret reports, budgets, and forecasts

Extensive knowledge of menu development, insight into marketing, cost and wage control

Extensive knowledge of food products, standard recipes, and proper preparation

Ability to analyze, forecast, and make judgements to ensure proper production control

Ability to work in confined spaces

Ability to work in an environment with extreme temperature ranges (hot and cold)

Effectively conduct meetings, menu briefings, and maintain communication lines between team members and management personnel

Ability to stand, walk, and or sit continuously to perform the essential functions of job for extended periods of time

Ability to effectively deal with external and internal customers

Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations, distinguish product taste, texture, and quality, and evaluate presentation and preparation

Artistic ability to create custom menus complementing our wines

Professional Experience

Minimum of 2-3 years as a Sous Chef, 1-2 years of experience as a Chef de Cuisine preferred

Experience mentoring culinary staff with varied levels of experience and maturity

Track record of leadership in the kitchen

Technical & Management Skills

Effective at building teams, ability to motivate others, ability to manage vision and purpose, ability to set and deliver against priorities, ability to deal with ambiguity

Creative menu development skills

Strong background in culinary events and hospitality management

Strong background and knowledge of catering operations and execution of 350 person events

Excellent verbal/written communication, customer service, and organizational skills are necessary

Strong PC skills (Excel, Powerpoint, Word)

Personal & Interpersonal Skills

Strong team player, excellent communication skills within and outside of the organization, positive and enthusiastic attitude

Exemplary customer service standards, must be willing to “go the extra mile” to satisfy our guests

Ability to work with our wine educators in a cordial and respectful manner

Ability to keep calm under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment

Self-motivated, highly organized, positive with a good attention to detail

Licenses & Certificates

Must be able to obtain state health department certificate for food safety & sanitation

CPR/First Aid Certification
