BASIC FUNCTION
The Driller is responsible for the direct management and supervision of his drill rig and site. The key purpose of this position is to ensure the safe, accurate and timely completion of wells.

Education
Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Licensing, Registration and Certifications
Required: Valid State Driver’s License
Preferred: Valid State Driver’s Class A License
Experience
Required: Minimum of two (2) years-experience as a Driller Assistant
and three (3) years of Driller experience
Preferred: Five (5) years’ experience as a Driller and one (1)
year experience as a drill supervisor a construction environment.
Preferred: Bi-lingual Spanish & English

Ability to safely operate a forklift
Ability to operate a backhoe safely
The ability to organize, direct, control, and manage materials,
supplies, and personnel to accomplish the goals and objectives
Language ability to include reading, writing, spelling

Physical
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods of time. He/She must have a full range of body movements including use of hands to touch, handle, or feel objects, equipment and peripherals. In addition, bending, reaching, and crouching are needed. The ability to frequently lift 50 pounds is required.
The employee must have command of all five senses: sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position works primarily outdoors and will require the employee to travel to project job sites in company vehicles. The employee will encounter varying climates and conditions, and may be exposed to inclement weather, and significant temperature swings. Workdays will be 10 hours per day but may require overtime (12+ hours) periodically.
DUTIES, TASKS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain safety of site
Relocate drill rig between well sites.
Maintain all equipment on site (rig, compressor, truck which rig is mounted on, backhoe, mud shaker)
Oversee the controls & functions of the rig at all times (rotary table, control panel)
Take samples of drill cuttings every 20 ft and log it in the drillers log form
Maintain safe & steady drilling speeds
Perform repairs to the rig & all attached & detached equipment as necessary
Order parts for equipment
Keep the customer updated on the job site of drilling conditions,
formations being drilled through & professional opinion for duration of the job.
Oversee any and all individuals on the job site
Initiate, run & approve all pipe connections, casing lengths, (blank & perf) gravel tonnage, & seal depths.
