Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled tradesmen proficient in woodwork, wood deck installation, and deck coatings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in woodworking techniques, experience in constructing and installing wood decks of various sizes and designs, and expertise in applying deck coatings for protection and aesthetic enhancement.
Responsibilities:
- Construct and install wood decks according to project specifications and industry standards.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to understand design requirements and preferences.
- Select appropriate wood materials and ensure quality and durability of all deck components.
- Prepare surfaces for coating application by cleaning, sanding, and repairing as needed.
- Apply deck coatings using various techniques to achieve desired finish and protection.
- Inspect completed decks for quality assurance and address any issues or deficiencies.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a skilled tradesman in woodwork and deck installation.
- Proficiency in woodworking techniques and tools, including saws, drills, and sanders.
- Strong knowledge of wood types, properties, and best practices for outdoor applications.
- Experience in applying deck coatings such as stains, sealants, and paints.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and project plans.
- Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
