Position Overview
Norman’s Nursery is seeking a skilled Propagation Supervisor to lead our team in the daily propagation and cultivation of plants, ensuring optimal plant health and quality.
Plan and supervise all propagation activities, including seed sowing, cutting, and transplanting.
Develop and implement propagation schedules to meet production targets and deadlines.
Manage the transplant process from propagation to final planting, ensuring that plants are healthy and ready for cultivation.
Ensure all planted items are properly watered and positioned in their designated locations.
Determine precise cutting techniques to ensure successful production outcomes.
Lead, train, and supervise the propagation team, providing guidance and ensuring efficient and effective transplanting protocols and techniques.
Inspect plants regularly for signs of pests, diseases, and other issues, and take appropriate corrective actions.
Oversee the tracking and inventory of all plants, ensuring they are properly labeled and recorded in the system, and perform physical inventories of supplies, submitting orders to vendors as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
A team of 15 employees.
Required Skills
4+ years of successful supervisory experience in the agriculture industry.
Extensive knowledge of propagation in horticultural field.
Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
Fluent English & Spanish (reading and writing).
Work Hours
Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with weekend availability as needed.
