Mary Health of the Sick is a Skilled Nursing Facility. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for our residents while living in the facility by providing exceptional social and recreational activities tailored to their needs.
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Activity Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist the Director of Activities in executing the residents' activity program. Leads group activities. Visits residents on a one-to-one basis as directed by the Activity Director. Reports residents' progress to Activity Director.
Qualifications:
Must be a high school graduate or GED equivalent or have two years experience in a long term care setting. Experience in a recreation setting preferred.
Ability to pass a DOJ background check.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must have a basic understanding of the needs of the ill elderly and have an empathetic approach to illness.
Must have a willingness and an aptitude for working with a variety of people.
Must have a basic knowledge of a variety of activities. Must exhibit the ability to give instruction to others and to lead.
Imagination, creativity, and personal presence preferred.
Must exhibit a spirit of cooperation and have a pleasant, friendly, outgoing personality.
Must be able to be flexible with work schedule when needed for the good of the facility and Activity program.
Working Conditions:
This position may require working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical activities may include bending, pushing and standing for extended periods.
