SPARC, Santa Paula Animal Shelter, is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and rehoming animals in need. Our mission is to provide a safe haven for animals, promote responsible pet ownership, and educate the community about the importance of animal welfare.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Shelter Manager to oversee our shelter operations. The Shelter Manager will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, coordinating staff and volunteer activities, and ensuring the well-being of shelter residents. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and leadership skills, a passion for serving others, and a commitment to our mission of helping those in need.

Manage all aspects of shelter operations, working closely with the Board of Directors.

Hire, train, and supervise shelter staff and volunteers.

Assure that policies and procedures in place are being followed, and where needed, develop and implement new policies.

Coordinate with veterinarians and other service providers to ensure animals receive necessary medical care.

Oversee animal adoption process, including screening potential adopters and facilitating adoption events.

Maintain shelter facilities and ensure they meet sanitation and safety standards.

Manage shelter budget and expenses and seek opportunities for fundraising and revenue generation.

Develop and implement programs to promote responsible pet ownership and community engagement.

Qualifications: Previous experience working in an animal shelter, veterinary clinic, or similar setting. Strong leadership and communication skills. Knowledge of animal care best practices and shelter management principles.

Ability to work effectively with animals of all temperaments and species. Compassionate and empathetic demeanor.
