Serves as the interface between engineering and production personnel on new product development and life cycle maintenance; developing tests to enhance processes, product cost, product quality, monitoring testing, compiling test data, problem solving, and providing technical support for operations and design engineering issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Coordinate with design engineering to ensure that production builds meet all customer and internal requirements. Develop and revise routers, work instructions and other production documentation to maintain build quality/efficiency throughout the product life cycle.
- Support continuous improvement using lean six sigma tools to improve quality, productivity, and/or cost:
- Team Kaizen initiatives
- Value Stream Mapping
- Six Sigma projects for tooling or process improvements
- Lead corrective action activities to ensure quality products including development of short/long term counter measures using 8D methodology.
- Analyze trend data to develop, implement, and follow-up with countermeasures to existing production concerns using available indicators.
- Initiate Engineering Change Requests supporting ITT’s quality requirements that improve productivity and/or reduce cost.
- Review and approve Engineering Change Orders in support of Materials Department and
- Facilitate a zero-injury work environment by designing fixtures and procedures that reduce ergonomic stress and prevent injuries.
- Requires BS degree in Engineering, Operations or similar discipline with at least 3 -4 years manufacturing engineering or mechanical engineering experience in an aerospace environment; including, application of Lean manufacturing principles, work flow , process improvements and root cause problem solving.
- Should have experience with developing work instructions and assembly aids for assembly technicians.
- Must be capable of reading engineering drawings and interpreting the intent of a design.
