In partnership with John Deere, Blue River has expanded rapidly and together both companies see many opportunities to apply advanced computer vision, machine learning, and robotics technologies to other areas in agriculture beyond spraying The Mesa team is one of the core teams at Blue River Technology and is responsible for creating and supporting infrastructure surrounding labeling and engineering tools that are used by the rest of the company. Our customers exist within the Blue River org, and without Mesa it would be difficult to coordinate across teams or work efficiently to meet fast deadlines. Because of Mesas critical role, our engineering and product teams must work closely and quickly to deliver on requests from various users. Mesa has grown rapidly in the last year and taken on new responsibilities, which has led to a backlog of technical debt and an ever growing list of new features. To help address these process challenges, we are looking for someone to assist with the following responsibilities. Achieving these goals will enable our team to run more smoothly and work more efficiently, which will in turn enable us to better serve our customers and the company! You will learn the principle of sustainable consulting as the tools you craft and implement during your internship will continue to be used by the team after you leave. This internship will allow you to gain valuable project management skills as part of a fast pace, core team at Blue River Technology. In this role you will
Key Responsibilities/Deliverables:- Meet with product managers, team leads, and engineers to understand current engineering process in order to establish tracking criteria for team Jira tickets
- Establish process for ticket creation & closure
- Build a process to handle and triage different ticket types (support, feature request, bugs)
- Provide management an overview of current work that allows users to easily view statuses of tickets across projects and sprints
- Create easy integration with team docs
- Should track various components like priority, time, and owners etc.
- Build project dashboards that supervise engineer resource allocation & overall project health
- Study how team members prefer to engineer and devise Jira Board configurations for improved team efficiency
- Assist with document formatting and organization
- Define project plans and schedules, follow through to ensure the project remains on schedule through completion.
- Ensure tight inter-team coordination and communication by creating a schedule for updates on various work streams from sprint to sprint.
- Jira Dashboards to supervise sprint health, team resource allocation, etc.
- Participate in daily Standup to take notes and record and track any ticket/prioritization changes.

- Synthesize qualitative results of study and translate them into product ideas

- Strong presentation and technical documentation writing skills
- Understand the different responsibilities of a software organization (support, feature requests, products, technical debt, bugs)

- Basic understanding of Machine Learning engineering workflow, basic understanding of AWS
- Understanding of the Agile Software Development Lifecycle
- Enrollment in or completion of degree program in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field
- Attention to detail and process with the ability to work independently
- A positive demeanor and willingness to take on a variety of tasks as necessary
- Jira, Confluence, and other Atlassian tools
- JQL (Jira Query Language)
- Knowledge in Systems Design Management
- Experience with writing, maintaining, and tracking engineering tickets
