You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. You’ll work closely with a team of software and hardware engineering, manufacturing and operations, and supply chain experts to deliver a world class product and service at the right time, cost, and quality to Amazon’s customers. Experience in new software and hardware product development, cross functional core-team engagement, planning for delivery, and working in a high paced environment is a must.Key job responsibilities

Drive the scoping, planning and delivery of new devices and software services

Drive evaluation and adoption of new vendor technologies and HW

Work with global teams to deliver supporting software and services in sync with launch timelines

Single Threaded Owner (STO) for all aspects of software launch readiness of the program

Establish and lead an ongoing launch readiness program to systematically drive progress and complete critical program milestones

Identify and operationalize the metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) necessary to track progress, and drive issue resolution & mitigation at a granular level across the organization

Drive alignment of processes and initiatives throughout Amazon's Lab126 organization

Ability to travel up to 25% (including international)

A day in the lifeThe Principal PM is a high visibility, high impact role on operations, software and hardware. This flexible leader will gather business and functional requirements from external/internal customers, and translate requirements into technical specifications. This person owns the overall hardware engineering deliverables and strategy, software launching and releases, while balancing daily execution of program reviews, customer engagement, service testing, operation planning, and more. This person will thrive by working independently with large, cross functional teams inside and outside Amazon, while working directly with our customers. This PM will enjoy creating clarity and transparency in ambiguous situations, and the end-to-end ownership over product launching strategy and execution.About the teamTeam members are enthusiastic, friendly and supportive. 10+ years of engineering experience

7+ years of technical product or program management experience

5+ years of software development experience

Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Experience in working with oversea CM/OEM vendors in product and software development

Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational and no-sql databases

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related technical field

Preferred Qualifications

8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience

Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

Experience defining projects, collecting requirements, writing detailed functional and test specifications, coordinating efforts to scope, schedule and deploy new feature sets

Knowledge of audio, connectivity, device software systems and stacks from silicon (both MCU and SOC-based) to application and UX.

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline

Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Demonstrated ability to mentor other tech/non-tech members

Worked on Android, embedded or device software

The base pay for this position ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market.
