One California (https://youtu.be/RrPuiSnALJY?si=pvQgPZ6ZWZM60TPV)ResponsibilitiesJob Responsibilities:The Director of Medical Student Education (DMSE) provides oversight for the development,direction and coordination of all continuing medical education activities for medical students as a part of the graduate medical education office. Must have responsibility, authority, and accountability for: administration and operations; teaching and scholarly activity; disciplinary action; supervision; and education in the context of patient care as it relates to medical student experiences and education within SJMC.The DMSE is a program director within SJMC GME department and reports directly to the DIO/Director of Academic Affairs.Job Duties:

Should construct and implement a mission for the program consistent with the needs of the community and congruent with the mission of the sponsoring institution.

Develop, administer and maintain and educational curriculum (including didactic, SIM and clinical experiences, outlines with goals & objectives and evaluation methods) that address all core competency domains.

They may solicit input from other staff, healthcare professionals (i.e. Designated Institutional Officer, Health Sciences Librarian, etc.) or committees to identify educational needs and didactic or other activity development commensurate with furthering the education of the medical students.

This role is meant to serve as liaison between the different preceptor groups, the medical center, the medical schools with which it is affiliated, and the medical students rotating at that site.

Rotation oversight: the DMSE along with the clerkship administrator(s) will work with the preceptor groups to establish and maintain rotations. This includes working with preceptors to establish application and onboarding requirements, rotation goals and objectives, orientation material, and block/daily schedules.

QualificationsMinimum Requirements:Education and Experience:

Must have at least 2 years documented educational and/or administrative experience (eg prior protected time as core faculty, associate program director, or program director).

Licensure:

Must have current board certification by ABMS/AOBMS; current full, unrestricted California medical licensure.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Training:

Must have ongoing and current clinical activity in some aspect of (specialty) Medicine Practice.
