The Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine at Stanford University seeks an MD/DO (or foreign equivalent), board-certified (or equivalent) anesthesiologist who is eligible for a California license or exemption to join the Department as the Division Chief of Regional Anesthesia appointed in the University Medical Line or the Clinician Educator Line.
The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the University Medical Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

Academic rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.The successful applicant must be fellowship-trained or have equivalent experience in regional anesthesia and acute pain medicine, be committed to clinical and scholarly excellence, and have a history of leadership and accomplishments in the field of regional anesthesia. The applicant's commitment to the growth of the academic program is paramount to advance patient care, drive innovation, and mentor future leaders. Patient care at Stanford Medicine requires fostering a collaborative culture and engaging with other clinicians across several departments. The successful applicant will spend a significant portion of their clinical time in regional anesthesia. The Division Chief will represent the department and its faculty and oversee clinical care, operations, strategy, education, faculty development, and scholarly efforts.The Division of Regional Anesthesia provides care to a wide variety of patients needing peripheral nerve and fascia plane blocks, neuraxial anesthesia, and other regional analgesic techniques in the inpatient and outpatient settings. The division educates medical students, residents, fellows, and others, and aims to generate innovations that move the subspecialty forward. The faculty in the division contribute to many aspects of patient care, including perioperative pain assessment and management, acute pain consultation, clinical pathway development and revision, and collaboration with a dedicated inpatient acute pain service. The ACGME-accredited fellowship program trains future experts in regional anesthesiology and acute pain medicine. Associate Professor: $440,000–$450,000
Professor: $462,000–$483,000
