Position Title: Dealer Trade Driver
Department: Sales or Inventory Operations
Reports To: Sales Manager or Inventory Manager
Job Summary:
The Dealer Trade Driver is responsible for safely transporting vehicles between dealerships as part of dealer trade transactions. This role supports the sales team by helping fulfill inventory needs through professional and timely vehicle transport.
Primary Responsibilities:
Drive new or used vehicles to and from other dealerships for trade purposes.
Perform a basic inspection (fuel level, mileage, damage check) before and after transport.
Ensure accurate documentation (stock number, keys, dealer plate, trade paperwork, etc.).
Properly install and remove dealer plates for vehicle transport.
Represent the dealership professionally at all times.
Maintain communication with sales or inventory managers regarding trip status and any issues.
Qualifications:
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Must be 18 years or older (some states/dealerships may require 21+).
Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles (preferred).
Professional, punctual, and reliable.
Able to use smartphone or GPS technology for navigation and communication.
Must pass a background check and drug screening.
Physical Requirements:
Able to sit and drive for extended periods.
Occasionally required to walk long distances or work in outdoor elements (rain, sun, etc.).
Capable of lifting 10–25 lbs (e.g., paperwork, keys, etc.).
Work Schedule:
Typically part-time or on-call.
Hours vary based on trade needs—may include early mornings or late returns.
Some overnight trips may be required for long-distance trades.
