Landwell Design + Build Co. is a San Luis Obispo based landscape design and construction company specializing in the creation of contemporary outdoor living spaces. We thoughtfully design functional, attractive landscapes that are suited to fit each site and address individual client needs, and our talented construction crew builds custom outdoor living spaces using quality materials, exceptional craftsmanship, and a high attention to detail.
We are currently seeking both a Landscape Construction Foreman and a Landscape Construction Technician to join our growing landscape construction team. The Landscape Construction Foreman will be responsible for managing a small crew and overseeing/completing daily project operations, and will report directly to the company owner. The Landscape Construction Technician will be responsible for completing daily project tasks as instructed by their supervisor, and will report directly to the Landscape Construction Foreman.
Qualified candidates will possess the following skills/attributes:
Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors, crew members, and clients
Ability to manage time, and prioritize/delegate/complete tasks while meeting company standards
Ability to lift 50+ pounds throughout the work day
Ability to safely and properly use construction tools and operate equipment
Ability to keep organized and accurate records of relevant project costs
Ability to maintain a professional attitude and appearance
Experience/knowledge in the following areas is desired, but is not required for consideration:
Grading and drainage systems
Installation of pavers, flagstone, concrete and other hardscape materials
Retaining wall construction
Carpentry
Irrigation Systems
Low-voltage landscape lighting
Plant identification/proper planting techniques
Although we will hire and train the right candidate, the Landscape Construction Foreman will be expected to demonstrate the capability to perform, and the capability to train crew members to perform, the above-mentioned tasks after initial job training is complete.
Any additional construction, horticulture, or design experience/education is a plus. Candidates must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean DMV record. Compensation is competitive, but dependent on experience.
