The CALPIA Fabric program is designed to meet California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) institutional needs statewide. You will train and mentor incarcerated individuals who will gain knowledge and skills needed to meet the highest possible standards for Fabric and increase their chances for employment opportunities upon release.
Under the direction of the Prison Industries Superintendent II, (Fabric Products), the incumbent is responsible for the supervision of incarcerated individual workers engaged in the production of Fabric Products. Employees will have regular and substantial contact with persons incarcerated in California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation institutions and/or medical facilities.
Minimum Qualifications - 2 years of production experience working with Fabric.

Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday (6:30 am - 4:30 pm)
Monthly Salary: $5,182 - $6,815 plus state benefits! (Health, dental, vision, and CalPERS retirement!)

Experience in reading instructions and/or plans to construct a garment or fabric product
Education in the fabric products/garment industrial operation
Experience in an industrial and/or commercial sewing environment.
