Law Firm currently seeking a new team member in our Arroyo Grande location. Workers' Compensation and litigation experience preferred, but not mandatory. This position includes primarily Front Office duties.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Checking and responding promptly and professionally to all emails
Answering and directing all phone calls appropriately
Maintain the attorney's calendar
Daily bookkeeping entries within PC Law Accounting System
Billing
A/R & A/P
Daily mail, sorting, scanning
New client input
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing judicial council forms
Prepare, edit and proofread legal documents - often from dictation
File documents with the court via electronic filing
Prepare discovery requests and responses
Gather necessary documents for trials and hearings
Interact with clients, outside counsel, court staff and others
Skills and Qualifications:
Prior legal and/or office experience and/or education
Someone who has a strong understanding of legal terminology, or a desire to learn
Strong work ethic
Good communication skills
High level of organization
Detail oriented
Proficient in basic computer programs such as Email, WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, Excel
Minimum 55 WPM
Transcription experience
PCLaw experience a plus
Compensation DOE
Part-time, approximately 20 hours/week, split into three or four days a week. Flexible to-be discussed. This is an in-house position, not remote.
