Busy criminal defense attorney seeks a law clerk / law student with some criminal defense experience to assist with all aspects of the public defender job. If you're a certified law student or recent bar passer, you can handle court appearances and sit 2nd chair at jury trials. Day to day tasks range from the mundane like updating calendars, filing, reviewing discovery, etc., to writing and arguing motions to suppress, bail reduction motions, assisting with jury trials. I'm not a great trainer so ideally you know how to do some stuff or learn well on your own. Most work can be remotely, though obviously not if you come to court. Come to court! it's fun
