Position Overview:
Seeking a BOH leader who is passionate about cultivating a positive team environment and providing a high level of service to our guests. Working closely with the leadership team and reporting directly to the Chef, the Sous Chef will play an integral role in the day-to-day operational, service, and fiscal operating standards of Bear & The Wren.
Experience:

Responsibilities:
Kitchen Operations
- Creating processes and systems
- Ensuring safety and quality standards and are met
- Managing inventory, dry and perishable goods
- Ordering product and managing communication with reps/distributors
- Picking up product from local vendors, ie Berryman / farmers markets
- Organizing product and walk-in storage
- Creating recipes and updating new menu items quarterly
- Creating and updating prep list
- Food costing and budgeting
Staff Management
- Recruitment, hiring, and management of BOH team members
- Creating and managing BOH team schedule and time-off requests
- Training new and current team members
- Ensuring proper meal breaks and adherence to employment regulations
Service
- Managing the pizza station/oven during service when applicable
- Ensuring every item meets company standards of quality before sending to guests
Requirements:
- Valid California Food Manager Certification.
- Available for holidays, weekdays, weeknights, and weekends
