Line Cooks / Grill Masters – Smash burger pros (or ready-to-train candidates) who can handle the heat and move fast without sacrificing quality.
Prep Cooks – Organized, efficient, and detail-oriented, making sure the team has everything ready for a smooth service.
Cashiers / Guest Service Team – Outgoing and friendly, delivering a top-notch guest experience from greeting to checkout.
Runners / Bussers – The backbone of the dining room, keeping things clean, fast, and flowing.
What We’re Looking For
Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen & dining room
Team players with strong communication and hustle
Reliability—showing up on time and ready to work is non-negotiable
Previous food service experience is a plus, but we’ll train the right attitude

What began as a small family-owned restaurant has blossomed into a cherished fixture in the area, thanks to the unwavering support of our loyal guests and the dedication of our passionate team.
We came from humble beginnings with Roots on Railroad, opening February 14th 2020. Our derailed food truck served exceptionally delicious lunch and dinner seven days a week right in downtown Paso Robles. Chef/Owner Chris Beckett poured his heart and soul into Roots on Railroad, marking it as the first solo endeavor of his 20+ year career. His creative and fresh “street-food-esk” menu features house-made items, crafted with care right down to the sauces and dressings. Now, these offerings are available at Smash N Roll via Barrel House Brewing Company, a Tin City Legend in Paso Robles.
