Job Description:
Avila Valley Barn is now taking applications for kitchen Manager. Our team is looking for someone who both loves the farm and fits in with our self driven, proud, hardworking and good humored team. Hours:
8 hour shifts ranging between 7:00am to 3:30pm or 10:00am to 6:30pm
Job Requirements:
Must have a positive attitude, be self driven, responsible and have the ability to delegate, multitask, and problem solve.
Willingness to learn.
Bilingual preferred.
Work well in a team environment.
Ability to take and give task direction.
Kitchen experience needed.
Must enjoy a fast paced work environment.
Must be willing to learn and do all kitchen job requirements i.e. knife work, equipment proficiency, kitchen sanitation, dishwashing, Line and prep work.
Must be able to lift roughly 50 lbs or less.
Must be able to walk and stand for long periods.
Must have reliable transportation.
Job Duties:
Preparation and assembly of all food items.
Ordering and inventory
Delegating and overseeing kitchen staff
Kitchen sanitation i.e. sweeping, moping, and washing all equipment and kitchen spaces.
Dishwashing
Make sure the quality and standards of all food produced and served is of the highest quality.
Customer service and hospitality.
Monitoring expiration dates and rotating food as needed.
Assisting in upkeeping health and safety standards.
Communicating food and kitchen needs.

Compensation:
Job Starts at $17.50 an hour Plus tips. Tips will increase your hourly wage significantly especially during busy seasons i.e. spring, summer, fall. Tips range from $3-$5 an hour during the slow season and $6-$8 an hour during busy season.
