I are seeking a dedicated and compassionate private teacher/caregiver for a 24-year-old male with low-functioning special needs, who currently operates at a toddler developmental level. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on an individual's life while providing care and support.
Key Responsibilities:
Implementing educational goals and strategies
Providing behavior therapy and teaching appropriate replacement behaviors
Assisting with therapy exercises and skill development
Teaching communication skills and everyday tasks
Engaging in interactive play and socialization
Assisting with personal care (dressing, toileting, bathing)
Preparing meals and assisting with feeding
Performing light housekeeping, including laundry and cooking
Driving to scheduled activities and appointments
Qualifications:
Previous experience in caregiving, teaching, or behavior therapy is preferred
Familiarity with first aid and basic medical procedures is a plus
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges
Must be able to pass a Live Scan background check
Desired Skills:
Enjoyment in teaching and working with individuals with special needs
Willingness to learn and apply ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapy techniques
Reliable and hard-working with the ability to work independently
Strong organizational and housekeeping skills
Compassionate, with excellent communication skills
Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and empathy
Job Details:
Hours: Monday to Friday, 2:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (please do not apply if you are unavailable during these hours)
Occasional weekend and overnight availability required
Starting Pay: $33 per hour, with potential for raises based on performance and attendance
Expected Weekly Hours: 32.5 or more hours per week
