Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Low Voltage Installation Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in installing low voltage systems, including nurse call, security, access control, audiovisual equipment, and networking components.
Responsibilities:
- Install, terminate, and configure low voltage systems, including nurse call systems, security cameras, access control devices, intercom systems, and audiovisual equipment. Set up and configure network cabling, data communications, and telecommunications systems.
- Run and terminate low voltage cabling, including CAT5e, CAT6, and fiber optic cables. Ensure proper cable management and labeling for easy identification and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with other technicians, contractors, and project managers to ensure the successful completion of low voltage projects. Communicate effectively with clients to understand their requirements and provide technical support.
- Create and maintain accurate documentation, including as-built drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals. Provide detailed reports on installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
- Ensure that all installations and configurations comply with relevant safety codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Stay informed about industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Participate in rotating on-call after 90 days
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications in low voltage systems are a plus.
- Proven experience as a Low Voltage Installation Technician or similar role.
- Strong understanding of low voltage technologies, cabling, and networking.
- Proficient in using hand and power tools for installation tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Physical ability to lift and carry equipment, climb ladders, and work in various environments.
