Landscape Maintenance Foreman/Crew Leader needed:
Kaiser Gardens, Inc. is looking for a full-time Landscape Maintenance Foreman/Crew Leader. Minimum 8 years of landscape maintenance experience. Hours are roughly 40 hours weekly. Will be supervising and working with two other team members.
Must have the following qualifications:
Ability to solve problems and meet client needs quickly, efficiently, and most important, independently.
Good attitude: positive, open minded, self-sufficient, competent, and enthusiastic. Your attitude on site with clients and with your fellow co-workers greatly affects opinions they have of you and this business.
Proficiency with all aspects of organic garden care, lawn care, plant pruning and fertilizing, fungus, pest and weed control, etc.
A familiarity with plant nomenclature, especially plants grown in Northern California gardens, including natives.
Pruning knowledge/techniques essential. Must know proper seasonal pruning/cutting techniques for lawns, perennials, shrubs and small trees.
Extensive irrigation system knowledge; must be able to program many types of controllers and troubleshoot/repair any problems that arise in any part of a given irrigation system.
Thorough knowledge of traditional and organic IPM pest and fertilizer treatments and must understand fertilizer scheduling per individual plant needs.
Ability to operate and basically maintain all types of power tools and equipment associated with garden care.
Organizational skills needed; checklists for clients, filling out time sheets, writing emails, making phone calls to clients, ordering and pick up of materials. Must follow through on tasks.
Management skills: must guide, teach, and be able to kindly yet firmly direct fellow coworkers towards desired goals.
Client relationship skills: must proactively establish trustworthy relationships, maintain contact and cultivate relationships with clients via garden checklists, phone calls, emails, and follow through.
Willingness to work outdoors in almost any weather.
English and Spanish speaking.
Valid drivers license, social security number, and clean DMV record.
Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
