We are hiring for the role of Site Carpenter on our home remodeling projects in Oakland and Berkeley.
We are seeking a career-minded individual who is willing to learn new techniques and is looking for a stable, well-paying career. This is a hands-on position and the ability to operate power hand tools is helpful. This is a permanent, year-round position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Reports to different work sites to complete required tasks/projects
-Reports on-time each day ready to work in Joinery Structures work shirt.
-Delivers quality, efficiency, productivity and safe work practices
-Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintains a clean environment
-Constructs, remodels, retrofits and repairs interior and exterior structures
-Takes direction from the Site Superintendent and Lead Carpenter
-Installation of interior doors, sliders, pocket doors, and large exterior doors.
-Install fixtures, such as windows, frames, trim, and hardware, using carpenters' hand or power tools
-Installation of window and door trim, siding, and exterior trim.
-Layout using tape measures, lasers and story poles
-Deck board installation and framing.
-Waterproofing around windows and doors and exterior walls.
-Maintains and services tools and equipment used in the performance of duties
-Uses power tools- Table saw, chop saw, circular saw, jig saw router etc.
-Cleans and prepares construction sites to eliminate possible hazards
-Organizes building materials as needed
-Tasks include wood framing, drywall, doors, windows, trim, and siding
-Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
-Perform repetitive physical tasks that require lifting, pushing, and pulling of material/product and standing throughout each shift.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
-Active listening skills and effective communication
-Be reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
-3+ years experience in house carpentry-related tasks
-Experience installing interior doors, exterior doors, windows and trim.
-Knowledge of waterproofing windows and doors, door pans etc.
-Current driver's license and vehicle.
-Ability to lift 60lbs
