Job Summary
Successful Privately Owned Auto Shop is seeking an Experienced Automotive Mechanic Technician who performs vehicle repair and maintenance as assigned in accordance with Auto shop and factory standards. The quality of their work will build Customer loyalty by developing trust and ensuring confidence in our Auto Shop as a Service Provider for their vehicle performance, reliability and safety.
The compensation range for this position is $28 - $32 per flat rate hour based on experience and education.
Duties
Performing vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with Auto shop and factory standards to drive high quality repair.
Diagnose and repair various systems, including oil changes, tire rotations, battery replacements, suspension, alignments, etc., when authorized by the Customer.
Work with a team lead to troubleshoot complex issues engines, transmissions, water pumps, exhaust and brake system, etc., and ensure high-quality repairs that meet manufacturer standards.
Communicating clearly, timely and efficiently what Parts will be required to perform the repair to Shop Manager and Service Writer regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication.
Conduct multi-point inspections to make appropriate recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of Customer Vehicles.
Documenting work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
Contribute to the cleanliness and organization of shop work area
Assist Shop Manager with receiving customer vehicles and end of day vehicle storage
Qualifications
4-5+ years’ experience as Automotive Mechanical Technician
Experience in Automotive diagnostics
Must have your own Personal Tools and equipped to perform all standard mechanical repairs and maintenance
Knowledge and skills to work on both Foreign and Domestic vehicles
Proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic Technician
Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components, including powertrain systems.
Ability to communicate technical information clearly.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Relevant certifications or training in automotive service is a plus but not required.
A commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all aspects of work performed.
Physical Requirements:
Lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
Work with tools overhead and in tight spaces.
Stand and walk for the majority of the workday in a high-volume environment.
Have the dexterity to use hand tools efficiently and drive manual transmission vehicles
