Rubrik, Inc. in Palo Alto, CA has multiple openings for tech positions, including Staff Software Engineer.
Responsibilities: Leading the design and development of Rubrik’s complex technology platform and underlying data infrastructures, including the integration and testing of new and existing features to optimize performance and scale backend systems to keep pace with our rapid expansion. Duties include: developing and implementing innovative techniques using advanced data modeling, computer and information science, and engineering principles to optimize and troubleshoot high-functioning solutions, while continuously scaling our on-demand systems and underlying infrastructure; conducting independent analysis of current software, including performance analysis; evaluating technical problems and product roadmaps; anticipating scaling bottlenecks and/or shifts in usage; diagnosis and troubleshooting customer issues in various component areas; determining design solutions to problematic programming; implementing modifications to ensure optimal performance and continued scalability as the company continues to grow; ensuring security and compliance posture; mentoring and providing technical leadership to lower-level engineers; and other duties as assigned. Employee may be stationed anywhere in the continental United States but will report directly to Rubrik headquarters in Palo Alto, CA.
Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or closely related field (or foreign equivalent).
Requirements: 5 years of experience in the job offered or related position. Other special requirements include: 3 years of experience working with: Java, Scala, C, or similar Object-Oriented languages; 3 years of experience working with MySQL, RocksDB, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, or similar data management systems; 3 years of experience architecting and developing large scale systems; 3 years of experience working with client/server architectures and/or application architectures; and 3 years of experience working with large codebases on cross-functional teams.
In lieu of a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or foreign equivalent) and 5 years of experience in the job offered or related, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or foreign equivalent) and 7 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related.
Rate of Pay: $284,000.00 - $300,000.00
