Sales Consultant – Outdoor Construction (South Bay / Santa Cruz County)
Description:
We are a well-established outdoor construction company serving Santa Cruz County and the South Bay Area, specializing in custom decks, paver installations, and concrete work. We are looking for a motivated Sales Consultant to join our team and help turn homeowner inquiries into signed contracts.
This is not a cold-calling or door-to-door position — you’ll be responding to warm leads from homeowners who have already expressed interest. Your role will be to meet with them, understand their needs, take site measurements and photos, explain our services, and work closely with our office to finalize estimates.
Responsibilities:
Visit prospective clients at their home or project site (appointments provided)
Gather accurate project information: measurements, photos, site notes
Present design ideas, materials, and construction options
Build rapport and trust with clients to guide them toward a decision
Communicate project details to the office for estimating and follow-up
Maintain regular contact with leads until contracts are signed
Requirements:
Prior experience in sales, construction, or home improvement (preferred but not required)
Professional, friendly, and confident in client interactions
Ability to take accurate measurements and clear photos
Strong communication and follow-up skills
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
Self-motivated and organized
Compensation:
Base pay plus commission on closed sales (earnings potential depends on performance)
Flexible scheduling with some evening/weekend appointments possible
