Independent Sales Representative – Far West Cider (East Bay)

Far West Cider is a family-owned craft cidery based in Richmond, CA, with roots in a fourth-generation organic orchard in San Joaquin County. We produce award-winning ciders like You Guava Be Kidding Me and Nu Dry, made from the apples we grow ourselves. Our brand is expanding, and we’re looking for independent sales partners to help us grow.

Territory: East Bay

Oakland, Berkeley, Emeryville, El Cerrito, Albany, Alameda, Piedmont

The Role

We’re seeking a motivated independent contractor (1099) to open new accounts and build long-term relationships with bars, restaurants, retailers, and bottle shops in the East Bay. This is a commission-driven role, you’ll be creating your own business and opportunities. We’ll support you with product samples, POS materials, CRM and a delivery team. Lead generation and sales activity will be in your hands.

Responsibilities

- Prospect, pitch, and secure new on- and off-premise accounts in your territory.

- Conduct tastings, samplings, and account visits to build relationships.

- Provide basic account support and encourage reorders.

- Maintain consistent communication with the Far West Cider team to coordinate deliveries and share feedback from the field using our in-house CRM.

Compensation

- Commission-based pay with uncapped earning potential.

- High-impact reward for new accounts: successful reps can expect a strong upfront bonus ($100 per new placement, depending on order terms).

- Ongoing commissions on both case and keg reorders, structured in line with industry standards.

- Additional incentives for hitting sales milestones.

What We’re Looking For

- Sales or hospitality experience, ideally within beer, wine, or cider.

- Self-starter with strong communication and relationship-building skills.

- Knowledge of the East Bay beverage scene is a plus.

- This role is a great fit for someone who already has contacts in the industry and wants to build on those relationships.

- Entrepreneurial mindset: this is about building your own book of business.

The Opportunity

This is a true ground-floor sales role with room to grow. With strong results, there is potential for the position to expand into a larger role, whether that’s a bigger territory, team leadership, or more structured compensation, but for now, the focus is on creating wins in your territory and building accounts.
