McCampbell Analytical, Inc. (MAI) is a full-service environmental analytical laboratory located in Pittsburg, CA (SF Bay Area). MAI’s aquatic toxicology department specializes in analyzing the effects of effluent, ambient waters, soil, chemicals, and groundwater samples on aquatic organisms.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a full time Aquatic Toxicologist to join our team. The position available is for an entry to intermediate level (0-4 years of experience) analyst that can be a productive team member, reliable, and flexible with hours. The position will require working holidays and on the weekend.
Responsibilities and Duties:
The analyst is responsible for maintaining biological tests, organism husbandry, preparing standards, calibration of equipment, analyses of samples, washing glassware, and general laboratory maintenance and cleaning.
Any analyses performed are to be done in accordance with prescribed EPA or ASTM methods and based on department protocols.
Qualifications/Requirements:
A four-year college degree in aquatic toxicology, biology, ecology another closely related environmental science discipline.
Candidate will have working laboratory experience and a basic lab skill set.
Clear and concise communication with Project Managers.
Capable of multi-tasking with a strong attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Familiarity with a Laboratory Information Management (LIMS) database would be preferred.
Good mechanical & troubleshooting skills are an asset
Teamwork-driven personality with a strong work ethic and desire to learn.
