Dolores Deluxe is Growing & Looking for a Kitchen Manager!

California, San francisco bay area
Aplica ya

Hi there, and thanks for your interest in the Kitchen Manager position at Dolores Deluxe!

About the project:

Hi, we're Zach & Ramzi! We recently took over Dolores Deluxe, a legacy corner store in Dolores Heights that has been a fixture in the neighborhood since 1911. The location is insane (just 3 blocks from Dolores Park), and the building is gorgeous. We've been open for almost two years now, and we're grateful to see the neighborhood rally in support of our concept!

We have lots of plans for this place, and have been rolling them out in phases, with a big focus on parties, pop-ups, private events, and prepared foods in the second half of this year. Our selection highlights minimal intervention wines, a mix of local and international beers, additive-free spirits, delicious N/A beverages, and plenty of snacks! We also feature organic produce, homemade fruit slushies, catered picnics, grab-and-go food, weekly meal kits, and quarterly wine tastings in the park!

About the position:

You'll make $19 - $23 per hour, depending on experience.

You'll work part time, ideally 3-4 days per week. Shifts are short & sweet (5-6 hours), but this role can definitely morph into a full-time position in 2-3 months for the right candidate.

You'll be working in the mornings (start time as early as 6AM so if you're not an early bird, we suggest a different opportunity). Sunday availability is going to be a requirement for this position.

You'll occasionally be cooking outdoors for the neighborhood, and are open to working offsite catering/brand events!.

You'll work very closely with ownership on a daily basis, learning the ins & outs of a small business including finance, operations, strategy, and creative direction.

You'll sit in on monthly wine & spirits tastings to get to know our products!

You'll help manage inventory on a weekly basis, and work with ownership to ensure our offerings are aligned with the demands of our neighborhood.

Physical requirements for legal purposes: Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print). Move at a speed required to respond to work situations (e.g., run, walk, jog). Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance and objects weighing in excess of 75 pounds with assistance. Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

What we are looking for:

A genuine love for food & beverage (and ideally, other stuff)!

Creativity, drive, and a passion for learning new things!

Honesty + integrity

Open availability, with the understanding that we will respect your time outside of work.

Active ServSafe Certification.

Experience with food preparation and cooking is required.

Retail experience is a bonus.

What we'll offer in return:

Growth, and lots of it! We plan on opening more retail outlets in the Bay Area and beyond, and have our eyes on a San Francisco bar/restaurant project in the near future.

Continuous wine + spirits education, and reimbursement of any WSET, CMS, BarSmarts, or Cicerone certifications upon completion.

25% employee discount for in-store purchases.

Email us with your resume if you want to chat! Looking forward to meeting you!
