General Purpose
The Residential Services Coordinator is responsible for providing supervision to the homeless/unhoused clients at Coast House. Their primary responsibilities are to assure the safety and well-being of our clients, enforce shelter rules and protocols, to supervise clients during laundry, shower, computer station, intake area, chores, and to assist with intake and data gathering; to maintain a clean and sanitized facility.
Reports to: Shift Lead and Program Director
Salary Range: $20 - $23 per hour
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Shift Responsibilities: Support clients; register, check-in, monitor, assess behavior and overall well-being.
Monitor clients’ progress and well-being
Set up and tear down of shelter equipment
Understand the systemic issues that affect low income and marginalized people.
Assure building is secure at all times
Orient new arrivals to shelter protocols and policies
Providing crisis management for clients
Supporting client and facility needs
Fielding questions from clients and responding to requests
Completing Incident Reports as needed and submitting them to Program Director
Providing safety supervision to shelter residents
Overseeing chores, meals, and living space
Conducting intakes and discharges
Assist with food distribution
Always maintain a clean and sanitized living environment
Maintains supply list and communicates supply needs to Program Director
De-escalate hostile situations
Communicate client or maintenance needs with Program Director
Follows daily shelter checklist for the area/s you are supervising
Distributing and collecting client linens for laundering
Overnight RSCs are responsible for washing, folding, and storing linens
Other duties as assigned by management
Communication – Attends staff meetings to ensure that client’s needs are being well represented. Completes daily log to communicate with other shelter workers and management. Completes Incident Reports in a timely manner.
Education and Experience
Experience working in a shelter or other organization that works with the disenfranchised
Completes Guard Card Training, CPR and First Aid, and Custodial Technician Training
