Come join The Crucible as our new Programs Coordinator for the opportunity to use your arts education and program management experience in service to a fantastic arts education nonprofit located in West Oakland!

The Programs Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the activities for four (4) Crucible programs including: Team Builds, CREATE, offsite events and volunteers. Reporting to the Director of Programs, this position acts as the first point of contact for the artists and participants involved in each program, provides logistics and day-of-event coordination and obtains feedback from participants to monitor satisfaction and improve future program offerings.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

Minimum of one (1) year of scheduling or event booking experience—preferably with an established arts education nonprofit organization or equivalent setting

Minimum of one (1) year experience in a customer service role

Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Google Workspace Suite (e.g., Doc, Sheets, Slides, Drive), MS-Office (e.g., Excel) and Salesforce or related database experience. Willing and able to learn new software.

Ability to prioritize, and manage multiple projects and deadlines

Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Ability to work independently and collaboratively, take initiative, and be proactive around problem-solving

Flexibility in communication styles and modes

Familiar with Oakland and engaged in the Oakland community

Approaches work with an equity and inclusion lens

Willing to work irregular hours including occasional overtime, evenings, and weekends when required

Strong organizational skills; comfort with digital tools and research.

Self-motivation and adaptability.

Ability to prioritize workload efficiently and manage multiple projects.

Can work effectively under pressure, react quickly, and meet tight deadlines.

Strong personal integrity, maturity, and credibility.

OSHA-30 General Industry card or willing to obtain within sixty (60) days of employment

Valid California Driver’s License with an insurable driving record

Ability to complete California DOJ LiveScan for youth-serving organizations.

Physical Requirements

This position is primarily located in an office and warehouse environment. Able to perform the following duties with or without accommodation:

Stand, sit, kneel, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions for the duration of an eight (8) hour shift.

Able to operate standard office equipment including computers, keyboard, phones, POS machines, and printers.

Traverse safely throughout the entirety of the facility including climbing stairs.

Safely lift, move, and transport items weighing up to 50 lbs.

Communicate in a clear speaking voice in person, over the phone and during video conferences.

Complete COVID-19 primary vaccination series and most recent vaccination booster available.

Benefits & Compensation

This is a full-time, non-exempt position based in Oakland, CA. Our work environment is casual, upbeat, professional, and fun. This position is scheduled Monday through Fridays, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. The starting pay for this position is $28.08 per hour ($52,410 annualized). Full-time employees are eligible to participate in benefits the first of the month following 30 days of service. Benefits include:

Medical, dental and vision coverage at 50% for employees

Generous leaves of absence! Accrue up to 10 days of paid vacation in your first year AND separate paid sick leave based upon your hours of service. The Crucible currently celebrates 11 paid holidays!
