We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Product Technician to support the hands-on manufacturing of cast resin / cement / concrete products. You will assist in batching, casting, demolding, finishing, and maintaining quality across custom slabs, tiles, or objects. Ideal candidates are comfortable in a workshop environment, understand material behavior, and take pride in craft precision and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
Casting & Fabrication
- Mix raw materials (e.g., mineral powders, pigments, resin/binder systems)
- Pour and level casts into molds for slabs, tiles, or bespoke forms.
- Monitor curing times and environmental conditions to ensure consistency.
Surface Finishing & Quality Control
- Demold and inspect cast pieces for defects, cracks, or inconsistencies.
- Sand, polish, and finish surfaces to achieve matte, honed, or glossy effects as required.
- Ensure color and pattern consistency across batches and maintain product standards.
Mold Handling & Maintenance
- Prepare molds (e.g., apply release agents, inspect for wear or damage).
- Help fabricate and repair molds when needed
- Keep accurate logs of mold usage, condition, and lifespan.
Shop & Equipment Maintenance
- Operate and maintain shop equipment
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following health and safety guidelines.
- Track inventory of casting materials and consumables; report restocking needs.
Collaboration & Innovation
- Work with design or R&D teams to experiment with new designs
- Assist with prototyping or custom orders requiring unique mold setup or casting approaches.
- Offer feedback on process improvements and efficiency gains.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in fabrication, casting, or material production, especially with cementitious, resin-based, or composite materials.
- Strong attention to detail, craft, and consistency.
- Basic knowledge of tools and equipment used in casting and finishing processes.
- Physically able to lift molds, handle materials, and stand for extended periods.
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working in a production environment.
Bonus
- Prior experience with engineered stone, terrazzo, GFRC, concrete casting, or similar industries.
- Familiarity with pigmenting, batching, and working with natural or recycled aggregates.
- Interest in sustainability
- Experience with CAD and digital fabrication tools
