About Us:

Human Writes Music Group is committed to empowering formerly incarcerated individuals through the art of songwriting. Our program offers a creative and therapeutic environment where participants can explore their musical talents, express themselves, and develop valuable skills for personal growth and reintegration into the community.

Program Description:

We are currently recruiting participants for our upcoming songwriting program designed specifically for individuals who have been formerly incarcerated. This program aims to provide a supportive and inclusive space where participants can learn songwriting techniques, collaborate with peers, and gain confidence in their creative abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Attend weekly songwriting workshops facilitated by experienced instructors.

Engage in collaborative songwriting exercises and projects with fellow participants.

Share personal experiences and stories through music and lyrics in a supportive environment.

Commit to participating actively and respectfully in all program activities.

Provide feedback and suggestions to help improve the program experience for all participants.

Qualifications:

Have a personal interest in songwriting and music creation.

Be open to learning and collaborating with others in a group setting.

Have a desire to explore and express personal experiences through songwriting.

Be reliable and committed to attending scheduled program sessions.

Additional Information:

Sessions will be held Saturday mornings in Oakland, CA.

Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their work at a culminating event or through other public platforms, if they choose to do so.
