PWDF is seeking one to two part time to full time (28 to 35 hours) positions. P/T will be pro-rated.
Position Description: LA and Paralegal support legal representation of claimants seeking:
1) Social security disability and/or SSI benefits, employment, housing
2) Disability Rights; ADA, Sec. 504. Litigation in court
Specific Job Duties:
Screens all incoming requests for representation;
Assists in the development of cases from intake through closure, including contacting medical providers at all levels of representation including appeals or litigation in court;
Any and all administrative work relating to the above, filing, typing, organizing the office, and ensuring office supplies and services are available as needed;
Assists in case management, including reporting current status of cases;
Transcribes dictated documents;
Maintains calendar;
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
One to three years of experience in a office setting performing the duties described above; if paralegal, experience in legal office including ability to supervise others;
Professional communications, including both verbal and written skills;
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Compensation/Benefits:
Pay range: For AA $22-$26 per hour or DOE; for paralegal $23-$29 per hour ($40,000 - $55,000 for a 35-hour workweek) or DOE;
