Mid-Sized SF Law Firm Seeks Civil Litigation Associate Attorney

We are a boutique civil litigation firm in San Francisco. We handle a variety of real property matters and have a full-time position open for a smart, hard-working associate who is interested in collaborating with our other litigation attorneys. The position offers a unique opportunity to gain extensive experience, to have immediate responsibilities, and to be part of expanding our litigation department. The successful candidate will be willing to work hard, follow through on projects until they are completed, and be proactive.

Primary Responsibilities:

Case management;

Conducting research;

Drafting various pleadings, including Complaints, Deposition Notices and Objections, and various Motions (Summary Judgment, Discovery, Leave to Amend, etc.);

Trial preparation;

Taking and defending depositions;

Arguing at law and motion hearings;

Guiding litigation staff as needed in all aspects of case development; and

Performing all other necessary duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Ability to work under deadlines, handle multiple projects, and produce excellent work product;

Excellent writing, research, analytical and verbal communication skills;

Proven case management skills;

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment;

Solid familiarity with how insurance coverage affects real property disputes;

Construction defect litigation experience; and,

Familiarity with DBI and other government agencies, including administrative and variance hearings, is a bonus.

Full time position includes vacation/sick time, medical/dental insurance and participation in the firm's 401k Plan after a probationary period.

3-5 years of experience preferred.
