Steamer Lane Design is hiring a Temporary Production Assistant to work in product assembly and shipping. We are located on the westside of Santa Cruz and make laser engraved wood magnets, keychains, ornaments and pins for gift shops and National Parks around the country.
This position is temporary and will run from now through September 26th. 24 hours per week, or more if you're up for it. Shifts are generally 6 hours long, 4 days per week. Time of day and days of the week are flexible.
This job is super boring and repetitive. The day-to-day responsibilities are gluing metal pins to the back of a wooden board then packing wooden badges into boxes. That's pretty much it. You can listen to headphones the entire time. There is no customer service.
This job requires fast hands, finger dexterity and an eye for detail. Your hands must move FAST. There is a strong focus on quality control and efficiency. It's incredibly repetitive, but good podcasts make the day go quickly!
