JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Janitor with Light Handyman Duties to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in cleanliness, and has basic maintenance skills. The position involves routine janitorial tasks, minor repairs, and light maintenance duties to ensure the facility remains in top condition.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Janitorial Duties:
Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, offices, and common areas.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
Empty trash cans and replace liners.
Refill bathroom supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper).
Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
Perform routine inspections to maintain cleanliness standards.
Power-wash the sidewalk as needed.
Light Handyman Duties:
Perform minor repairs (e.g., fix blinds, replace light bulbs, tighten loose fixtures).
Assemble and disassemble furniture and equipment as needed.
Handle basic plumbing tasks (e.g., unclog drains, fix leaky faucets).
Report major repairs or maintenance needs to the Facilities Manager.
Conduct scheduled monthly maintenance inspections and tasks.
General Duties:
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request restocks as needed.
Ensure all areas are clean, organized, and safe.
Follow safety procedures and report any hazards immediately.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience as a janitor, custodian, or handyman preferred.
Basic knowledge of plumbing, general repair, and maintenance tasks.
Ability to operate cleaning equipment (e.g., vacuums, buffers, power washers).
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to recognize and mitigate safety hazards.
Basic math and English language proficiency for reading instructions and communication.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Comfortable working on ladders.
Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
Flexible availability, including potential evening or weekend shifts if needed.
On-call availability for maintenance emergencies.
COMPENSATION
$25 per hour
$300/month health stipend
