Job Description (Part-Time M-T 8AM-3PM, Some weekends)
Based in the city of Livermore, it is a dedicated facility for the service and repair of low, and medium-voltage circuit breakers that improve their reliability and performance for testing companies, electrical contractors, and end users in the petrochemical, industrial, manufacturing, electric utility, cogeneration, data center and building maintenance industries. Workshop Technician – Low and Medium Voltage Circuit Breaker Workshop
Job Summary:
This is an entry level position in the circuit breaker workshop, training will be provided. Troubleshoot, inspect, test, and clean apparatus. Perform other assignments as needed including pick-up, delivery and shop clean up.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Daily shop and equipment cleanup, organization.
Pick-up and deliver to jobsite.
Understand client workscope and communicate any changes or clarifications.
Configure and setup circuit breaker to test equipment.
Perform mechanical and electrical accessory testing of circuit breakers to include operating and racking mechanisms, motor-operators, shunt trips, under-voltage release.
Conduct electrical testing of circuit breakers to include vacuum integrity, ductor, megger, primary current injection, and secondary injection testing.
Obtain, compile, and record test data. Interpret test results and provide data to lead for review.
Follow standard practices and procedures for resolving basic to complex problems.
Perform duties in a manner compliant with prevailing quality procedures and policies.
Required Skills and Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good judgment, dependable, honest.
Problem solving, uses logic and methods to solve problems with effective solutions, looks beyond the obvious does not stop at first answers.
Strong computer skills including editing, formatting and using templates in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, and smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, basic color differentiation and the ability to adjust focus. Regularly lift and/or move up to 25-100 pounds.
Valid California driver’s license.
Part time position with starting pay at $20hr with opportunity for full time employment which includes profit sharing, 401k, and PPO Health.
