Facilities Assistant
Well-established Los Gatos religious institution and preschool seeks a Facilities Assistant who is responsible for assisting the Facilities Supervisor with set-ups, maintenance, and cleanliness of all facilities. This role comprises a wide variety of maintenance and cleaning duties including preventive, emergency, janitorial and routine maintenance, along with minor repairs and regular inspections. This position generally works on weekends with shifts as requested by the Facilities Supervisor.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Manage and assist in set-up and break-down for religious services and events
Ritual service set-up (will learn and implement specific set-ups for ritual services)
Monitor security including inspecting the building at the end of the night and arming the alarm system
Ensure that the kitchens are clean and stocked and that equipment is accounted for
Interface with congregation members, staff, and outside vendors before and during events to ensure success
Minimum Requirements
Fluent in English (Spanish a plus)
Flexible Schedule
Self-motivated individual with the ability to multitask efficiently
Ability to respond to emergencies in a quick, calm, and efficient manner
Professional appearance and great work ethic
3+ Years Experience
Clean Background Check
Preferred
Synagogue experience
Jewish or Jewish Knowledgeable
Schedule: This position will regularly work Sundays and some Saturdays or other holidays if available. The hours and days will vary according to Jewish holiday observances and other events on the temple’s schedule.
