Job Description
South Bay Materials, a Landscape Materials Supply Company, is seeking a career-minded individual to join our close, efficient team as an Equipment Operator / Sales Associate. A positive attitude, excellent customer service skills, and a willingness to grow and build relationships with team members and customers are essential.
Responsibilities:
Load materials using equipment (e.g., forklift) or by hand.
Assist customers with purchases, complete transactions, and answer phones.
Respond to inquiries in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
Help maintain a clean and organized branch environment.
Meet all store safety requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Ability to contribute to a team approach with versatility, flexibility, and a positive outlook.
Excellent interpersonal and multitasking skills.
Willingness to work extended hours during peak seasons.
Key Qualifications:
Equipment Operation: Minimum 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment (certification can be provided if needed). Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, front end-loaders.
Customer Service: Minimum 2 years of sales or customer service experience.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 60-80 pounds.
Language Skills: English required; Spanish is a bonus.
Technology: Basic computer literacy is required. Familiarity with Microsoft programs and email (outlook)
Present a professional image through personal appearance and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
Benefits:
Competitive hourly pay ($20.00 - $22.50 per hour)
Full Time: Health Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Profit Sharing, Dental Reimbursement Program, Lunch Provided 1st and 15th of each month

Employment Type:
Full-Time or Part-Time (flexible hours)
We offer flexible scheduling for part-time positions, ideal for those balancing other commitments. Full-time employees may be required to work extended hours during peak seasons.
Store hours are 7am-5pm Mon-Fri / 7:30-5:00 pm Sat.
