Privately owned barn in the beautiful Sonoma County, CA is looking for a dedicated equine groom to join our team. The position involves providing individualized care for our seven retired but lively warmbloods while also maintaining the upkeep of the facility. The ideal candidate for this position has a strong passion for horses, committed to their care and well-being, has attention to detail, and is looking forward to become a part of a hardworking, and fun group of people.
Position Type:
-Full time (up to 5 days a week)
-Starting at 20/hr (depending on experience and work ethic)
-Holidays
-Ability to commute/relocate to job location (Santa Rosa, CA, 95409)
-Relocate before starting work (required)
Responsibilities include:
-Daily turnout
-Walker
-Grooming
-Measuring hay, grain and supplement
-Equine therapy
-Some stall cleaning
-Assist with property maintenance as needed
-Equine first-aid
-Monitoring the overall well-being of the horses
Requirements include:
-Minimum 5 years of professional equine, equine-care experience
-Valid clean drivers license and SS#
-Ability to work in all weather conditions
-Physical condition to be working on your feet for the duration of the day and lift heavy items
-Reliable and accountable work ethic
-Good communication skills
